A cool way to welcome a surfer to the team is cast them as a seminal psychedelic drug infused Hunter S. Thompson. The Fear and Loathing spin off is not too far from the fruit bowling Yadin of surfing past. He is a civilized citizen these days and surfing better than ever. The intro of this clips is really well done pity the surf footage is blown out....

The Future isn't what the future used to be. Today a vast pool of youth are taking the possibilities of surfing into a new era. Gone are the days of punting an air reverse straight into the piggy bank. Unless its a full rotation, a tweaked grab or a god darn flip its not going to see the light of day. With poise and flair D Payne ditches his way past the talented field and receives the final invite for Modern Collective. Its not only his free surfing that caught the eye of the beholder. He just won his first contest in 8 years! bagging the Oakley Pro Junior and is currently in the lead for the Vans Triple Crown heading into Pipe. So hot right now...

WCT VOYAGE COMES TO AN END

As the surfing beast takes over a small stretch of beach for the Hawaiian winter Modern Collective has been tucked away plotting our next trip. We took a peep at the stab blog for some hawaiian goss and was peeved to hear our collective foe Yadin missed out on CT qualification by one heat... oouch! bad luck Yades. 

Mr Nicol will have his free surfing boots on and bags packed ready for orbit next month.

MIDNIGHT EDITING

The Modern Collective galaxy has been dormant over the last week mainly because some exciting news has come to life. A new Poor Specimen movie dropping january! ooo weeee! 

We have been locked away in the edit bay and hard drives full of clips block the entry wooops... I just deleted Julians section... shit I have to go hit the auto save vault. Keep an eye on the Poor Specimen website for more info.

Not in the collective mix but Marzo's surfing maintains a vogue flair in the modern world. Check the ditch at 00:46 this is what Modern Collective probes on the futuristic side of surfing.  We will make sure the fins are staying dry on our shoots.
